Life Maps Programs Whether restlessness comes from a changing relationship, a changing world, or a changing you, difficult choices are a part of life. Myers-Briggs Personality Type is the foundation for developing self understanding and maturation in Life Maps clients. As a Qualified Instructor and Practitioner, Beth assists clients in gaining awareness of their personality preferences. With this awareness, clients find greater self acceptance and an increased acceptance of personality differences in relationships. Therefore, clients often report more confidence in their communication skills and their ability to make themselves understandable. Life Maps coaching is available in numerous settings. The favorite settings are: Personal Coaching Customized session plans are created with client input, beginning with an agreed personal goal statement for life change. Life skills to be learned are set into an agreed lesson plan. By the end of the first coaching hour, a fully customized contract with a specific number of sessions is devised. Group Coaching The Myers-Briggs Personality Type Course includes the MBTI questionaire and an in-depth instruction on the four components of personality type. As a certified MBTI instructor, Beth will heighten your self awareness through her instruction such that you will be able to make an informed self assessment of your personality type. In this course, you will identify your personality type and an introductory understanding of the career fields and the stress management skills that best suit you. The 3 hour course is open to new and existing clients and is offered once a month. Group size is: minimum 6 - maximum 8 people. Cost is $90 per person. In addition to the monthly in-office session, watch for the choice of a new setting for this course - monthly teleseminar held in two sessions of one and one half hours each. The Personal Goal Setting Course for Women is designed for women experiencing a life transition and women who choose the motivating and safe setting created by Beth Abel as the Group Coach. A new monthly small group course is specially designed for people in the life transition of moving. A free monthly teleseminar, Life Skills for Relocating, will address the three phases of life transition when a move occurs: preparing, getting settled and creating a new lifestyle. After the presentation, Beth will field questions from the registered participants, using her vast professional experience of helping clients in the widest range of life transition situations. Periodically a small group will request a customized small group course in a specific area of life skills training. For example, courses offered in the recent past have been: Parenting Skills Assertiveness Skills Anger Management Skills Office Communication Skills Free consultations are available to create a small group course plan and contractual agreement. Workshops and Retreats An accomplished Workshop Presenter, Beth Abel provides motivational and energizing workshop leadership on a variety of topics. Examples of recent workshops and retreats are: A government work group of twelve employees contracted an all day workshop on Myers-Briggs Personality Type understanding to promote improved communication and team building skills. Followup workshops are planned to maintain and improve the team functioning. A women's retreat used a curriculum designed to increase acceptance of personality and cultural differences and to celebrate their diversity by understanding how their fellowship benefits from these differences. The retreat curriculum was designed for a Friday night and all day Saturday program. A clergy women retreat was held using a curriculum designed to increase self awareness through the Myers-Briggs Personality Type tool. Building on this first step of the curriculum, participants learned how personality types vary in their spiritual growth path. The retreat goal was to increase clergy's ability to lead laity in spiritual growth when the clergy's personality type is different from that of a specific lay person. Beth Abel frequently presents as the family counselor at an on-going workshop held monthly. The educational workshop informs women on the legal, social/emotional/familial, and the financial issues one faces when considering divorce. Second Saturday - What Women Need to Know About Divorce and Custody, is a multi-professional team that focuses on women's needs. In this setting, Beth Abel addresses how women can decrease emotional pain and suffering for themselves and all involved by becoming more aware of self and others and by becoming more informed about the complex divorce process they are experiencing. When families are breaking apart, life skills are essential to moving through change with the emotional maturity so necessary in being a responsible adult. Camp CEO is a two day workshop for 10th grade girls and is offered annually so that girls learn Myers-Briggs Personality Type awareness and the career fields most closely related to their personality types. The workshop also gives teenage girls mentoring relationships with local professional women from a variety of career fields. This workshop is prepared for forty participants and includes a 25 page workbook. Camp CEO has occured annually for the last nine years and is sponsored by the Girl Scouts. A monthly e-newsletter, Life Maps Mileposts, is offered to those who subscribe without cost.
